Windows Update Client Event Id 20499

In the event log we see automatic updates installing and rebooting the server. We thought we turned off automatic udpates prior to the last update/reboot events. When you turn off automatic updates, does it write an event to the log? If so, what is the 'source' of the log entry?

  3. Event 20499 Terminal Services
  • Active Directory & GPO, DNS, and Windows 10. Have the same Warming Event ID 8018 that shows up multiple times.
  • If the issue still remains, try manually reset the Windows Updates Components once again and then reinitiate the Windows Update process. Resetting Windows Update Components will fix corrupt Windows Update Components and help you to install the Windows Updates quickly.

Dec 16, 2009  After installing the Client Security agent on client systems, you begin to see (in the Application log) agent rejection events with event ID 26017. Additionally, a MOM alert is raised and can be viewed in the MOM Operator console.

The Automated Updates client doesn't generate any specific Event Log messages when its configuration is changed. You'll have better luck locating information about how it is behaving in %SystemRoot%WindowsUpdate.Log, where the Automated Updates client puts most of its logging information.

Terminal Services Event Id 20499

Server 2012 R2 - Slow RDP login for Domain Users

As the title suggests, this does not happen for local accounts or for console connections, ONLY domain users using RDP. This happens on physical and virtual machines. I have tested a couple solutions found online, such as, DisableTaskOffload and Removing GPOs. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Event 20499 Terminal Services

Edit - I do receive Event ID 20499 in Event Viewer. The error is 'Remote Desktop Services has taken too long to load the configuration from the server DomainController for user %username%'
